from Staffordshire in the UK Neil has a degree in Leisure Business Management from Cardiff
University.
He worked initially as a children’s holiday rep before heading to mainland Europe traveling and working. He met his wife, who is a trained chef, while working in a French ski resort as an assistant hotel manager. This was followed by a summer season in Majorca then back to the UK to take up the post of General Manager at a 160 seat restaurant in Leeds looking after a team of 45 staff, a position he held for 7 years.
Then in December 2005 Neil, his wife and 6 year old son upped sticks and moved to New Zealand, Neil becoming the Food & Beverage Manager of a hotel / conference resort in the Marlborough Sounds before joining the team here at Twelve Trees. Outside work he enjoys spending time with his family and fishing in the Marlborough Sounds

Volker
started his chef training in Germany aged 16. Having completed his basic training he moved
to Switzerland where he learned classical French cooking.
A couple of years later the lure of warmer climes took him to Bermuda where supplies were haphazard but seafood plentiful. Then in 1998 a job in Blenheim lured him to Marlborough and not long afterwards he bought his own restaurant.
Some four years later he sold this and went home to visit the family in Germany. On his return he took up the position of head chef at Twelve Trees Restaurant. When not at work Volker prefers to be outside and enjoys many adventure sports.
