All of Allan Scott Wines’ Marlborough vineyards are situated close to the winery in the Rapaura area of the Wairau Plains. The gravelly soils that predominate are perfectly suited to the production of the aromatics; Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Pinot Gris, and Gewürztraminer.
Traditionally made Chardonnay and Pinot Noir is also produced. When conditions permit Late Harvest wines are made, often from Riesling grapes but in some years botrytised Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc has been more suited to the style.
The grape intake from Estate owned vineyards is supplemented by contract growers who supply the company with grapes from a range of diverse sites that enhance the blending options.
